How many HTML elements can you name in 5 minutes?

I do not usually post memes, but saw this on angelsk’s LJ and liked that it’s more of a test of skill (well, technically, memorization) than a personality test or “what [object in object class] are you?”

44

Cut for analysis, which mentions lots of HTML tags you probably don’t remember, yourself. If you’re going to take the quiz, don’t click until after.

Only 44 of 91! I’m actually quite surprised that I didn’t get a higher score. While I’m not “a web guy,” I do end up doing a lot of it. I missed some obvious ones I used frequently (code/pre, select, optgroup, option, frameset/frame/noframes/iframe) as well as some more obscure ones (with span/div and CSS, does anyone use font, center, small, etc. anymore?) The complete list of what I missed:

ABBR, ACRONYM, AREA, BASE, BASEFONT, BDO, BIG, BUTTON, CAPTION, CENTER, CODE, COL, COLGROUP, DD, DEL, DFN, DIR, DL, DT, FIELDSET, FONT, FRAME, FRAMESET, IFRAME, INS, ISINDEX, KBD, LABEL, LEGEND, MENU, NOFRAMES, NOSCRIPT, OPTGROUP, OPTION, PARAM, PRE, Q, SAMP, SELECT, SMALL, STRIKE, TFOOT, TH, THEAD, TITLE, TT, VAR

  1. “does anyone use font, center, small, etc. anymore?”

    Tragically, yes.

And, as fFurther evidence of you being Much Cooler Than Me: I only managed to name 35. I somehow suspected I would not even get that many, actually. I typically think of exactly the right tag at the time I need it; to come up with everything all at once is pretty rough on my brain. Or at least, that’s my defense, and I’m sticking to it.
