Bypass compulsory web registration via Firefox’s right-click context menu.

• CookieSafe @ https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2497

This extension will allow you to easily control cookie permissions. It will appear on your statusbar. Just click on the icon to allow, block, or temporarily allow the site to set cookies.

• Distrust @ https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1559

Hide surfing trails that the browser leaves behind.  This is similar to Safari’s private browsing mode.

• DOM Inspector – comes with Firefox
• FaviconizeTab @ https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3780

This extension adds a new “FaviconizeTab” option to the context menu of the tab.  When it is clicked, The width of the tab becomes small up to the size of favicon. It returns to the former size when “FaviconizeTab” is clicked again.

Firebug integrates with Firefox to put a wealth of development tools at your fingertips while you browse. You can edit, debug, and monitor CSS, HTML, and JavaScript live in any web page.

Flashblock is an extension for the Mozilla, Firefox, and Netscape browsers that takes a pessimistic approach to dealing with Macromedia Flash content on a webpage and blocks ALL Flash content from loading. It then leaves placeholders on the webpage that allow you to click to download and then view the Flash content.

• Gmail Notifier (I only run this on the Linux Firefox–I have a better OS-X-specific notifier on the Mac) @ https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/173

A notifier for Gmail accounts.

Google Browser Sync for Firefox is an extension that continuously synchronizes your browser settings – including bookmarks, history, persistent cookies, and saved passwords – across your computers. It also allows you to restore open tabs and windows across different machines and browser sessions.

Allows you to customize the way a webpage displays using small bits of JavaScript.

With the new version of the preferences window just added into firefox you no longer get as much control over which bits of javascript to disable. This extension aims to fix that problem. Simply install, then in the options window next to the checkbox to enable and disable javascript will be the new “Advanced…” button.

This extension will enable you to organize your status bar icons. You can now rearrange or remove any item (icon or text) in the Firefox status bar. If your status bar is full and cluttered like mine was, give this a try.

Control what gets sent as the HTTP Referer on a per-site basis.

• SwiftTabs @ https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/380

SwiftTabs allows you to assign shortcuts to switching and closing tabs.

• Tab Mix Plus @ https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1122

Tab Mix Plus enhances Firefox’s tab browsing capabilities. It includes such features as duplicating tabs, controlling tab focus, tab clicking options, undo closed tabs and windows, plus much more. It also includes a full-featured session manager with crash recovery that can save and restore combinations of opened tabs and windows.

• Talkback – comes with Firefox
• Uppity @ https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/869

Navigate up one level (directory). It will remove an in-page anchor, the querystring, the file, and the last directory in that order, whichever is first found.
