Back in the 90s there was a quote that went around. It was something along the lines of “if you’re not doing anything illegal, then you have nothing to hide and don’t need to encrypt your email.” Unless it’s financial or legal, why not write all your snail mail on postcards, right?
I would like to propose a new saying: if your company (or government) is not doing anything illegal or immoral, then they have nothing to hide, and therefore doesn’t need to worry about whistleblowers. There’s no need to make whistleblowers scapegoats, right?
