Somebody brought in some bacon-flavored mints yesterday:
They were so wrong on so many different levels. We could not tell whether or not they were vegetarian, as the “bacon flavor” on the ingredients did not say whether it was natural or artificial. Everything else seemed vegetarian. The taste was accurate–a mix of bacon and mint. My mouth instinctually knew that the texture was wrong. Bacon in pill form just is not something it had experienced before. The bacon aftertaste, long after the mint had dissolved, was absolutely wrong. It took lots of water and lots of mints to make the bacon taste go away.
i made a cobb salad for lunch today but was too lazy to fry up bacon. maybe a handful of these would work?
If you can get past the texture, then have at it!
*crunch* *crunch* …man, that texture did not match the taste. And that taste was too string for the size of the mint.
