I went to the Bridgeport Wild Oats for lunch today and decided to swing by the Apple store. I have seen photos of the various other Apple stores and the lines for the iPhone, so I figured I would see how Portland compares. There were probably 50-60 people there, hanging out, chatting, and having a good time on this warm sunny day.
In a few of the photos, you can see the employees putting up black tarp over the windows. They just recently locked the doors and will reopen at 6pm to start selling. What they’re doing behind the tarp, I have no idea.
As soon as I returned to work, the sky turned gray, opened up and dropped crazy amounts of rain.
One thought on “iPhone Line”
Best story of the feeding frenzy so far:
Woz waits in line, getting there at about 4 a.m. and wearing a shirt that says “The line starts here.” Had his Segway as well.
Tangentially, the bits of the “iWoz” autobiography that I’ve read have been extremely entertaining. Clearly dictated, they’re conversational and light hearted. Recommended.
