Last night, Kim and I had dinner at Bernie’s Southern Bistro. I am not sure that they even have bistros in the south, but this place was good nonetheless. They take the best local ingredients and fuse them with a southern style. My mint julep was strong and tasty. Kim’s fried chicken was excellent. My dish, the favorite food of Unfictologists () was wrapped in bacon and quite tasty. I was a bit unnerved by my meal staring up at me, so I ended up having using some of my cornmeal-type-stuff (I do not know what it was called) to cover its head. It has been a long time since I have had fish-fish, although I love shellfish and eat it at every chance.

After dinner, we went to watch Syriana. The trailers (if they can even be called trailers any more — half of them are ads) included one for K-Y Touch Massage Oil. WTF? The movie itself was great, albeit a little long, dry, and complex for the 10:30pm tasty-food-coma I found myself in. Admittedly, it does reflect life, politics, and the crazy state of things in Texas, Washington, and the middle east. It did not have the clean wrapped up ending I was, for some inexplicable reason, expecting. I think Good Night, and Good Luck, the previous political movie I saw, might have shaped those expectations–it ended on a good note with a fairly clean ending. Regardless, I am going to have to get Syriana from Netflix in the future and rewatch. There was just so much going on.
