The Robert Palmer Girls

I just walked past about a dozen girls in long, tight black dresses, just standing there on the street corner of a small park, without moving or making any expressions, like the Palmer Girl equivalent of an English Beefeater. Next to them was a sign that said (to the best of my memory): We are “Women in Black” standing in protest for international peace. It was just… odd. A few dozen meters later, a firetruck arrived, sirens blaring, to put out a noxious, smoky engine fire.
