I still feel a little crappy today, but I think going out and running errands in the sun and breeze helped a lot. Mmeta_kate and I are going to make some veggie and rice casserole this evening, so I went to pick up some supplies. Because I was not in a rush and actually preferred to do a little extra traveling, just to get out a bit longer, I decided to check out the Grower's Market (or whatever it is next to Denny's, across from Del Taco and Taco Bell, and across from Tower on Newport and 17th). First off, that place is impossible to get into. You really cannot make a left turn into the parking lot, nor can you make an easy U-turn, you just kind of have to go around and make a left turn into the back parking lot (hoping that people stopped at the red light actually heed the “KEEP CLEAR” area painted on the street in front of the driveway).

Anyway, the inside of the place was just as crazy as trying to get into the parking lot. There were too many people in too small a space. I would guess that most everybody only needed a shopping basket (if that), but half the people were getting gridlocked with shopping carts. I ran into the nice withered, old, short Japanese lady that makes sushi at the fish counter at Ralphs there. I finally got out and was quite happy at the quantity of food I was able to purchase for $10: a number of artichokes, several red and green bell peppers, zucchini, lots and lots of grape tomatoes, onions, roma tomatoes, etc.
