Excellent move to go with the safety razor...the benefits are countless, and the process is a wonderful morning ritual. Definitely get a blade sampler pack that has multiple brands - Amazon and WCShaving has them for $15-20 for 50-100 blades. This is a nice one: http://bit.ly/bIRnTu Each blade has a different shaving characteristic and can really make the difference between a great shave and a mediocre one. Once you find the right blade, you can order that brand by the 100 lot for $.10-.25 cents each...so a year or more for the same price as 8 Fusion blades ;)

Shave well and prosper!

I have some interesting facial geometry, myself, and found that I didn't need to shave as gingerly as I expected with the safety razor -- at least, when shaving with the grain. I'm still trying to figure out how to best get a closer shave by going varying degrees off-axis, and that is not going as well as planned.

I would like to go the safety razor route, but I have some facial topography issues that have always left me terrified to try it!

Regardless of how often Google queries the feed, the feed itself caches for 60 minutes. It also tells Google that it only changes every 60 minutes, so I'm assuming it honors that value.

If you have a lot of friends, it can take a long time to get their entries. Many web hosts do not allow you to change the response time and will kill your script if it takes too long to respond. Many also kill your script if it eats up too much CPU power (because you're usually on a server that is shared with dozens of other people and they don't want someone hogging the resources). Both of these things can kick back an "Internal Server Error." Unfortunately, there's not a lot you can do to prevent this unless you run your own server.

Sorry, a couple more details:

- Running at Dreamhost, and it does seem to be successfully scraping LJ for at least some entries
- log.txt reports success on every LJ in the list
