I just tried to treat a staple gun like a real gun. “Okay, I’ve
removed the clip but how do I tell if there’s still a round in the
chamber?” Wait, no, they don’t work like that.

Don’t point the staple gun at anything you don’t want to staple
A staple gun is always loaded
Do not trust the staple loaded indicator. Always remove the magazine and lock the slide back, inspecting the chamber, before you do anything else.
Do not leave the stapler where children may find it.
Use a certified stapler lock any time the stapler is stored.
Never carry a loaded stapler with a staple in the chamber.
